Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) is the official government body responsible for the planning, regulation, development and promotion of tourism in Qatar.
Its mandate is to contribute to the diversification of the overall economy through tourism, while building up the role of the sector in the country’s future growth and social development.
QTA’s work is guided by the Qatar National Tourism Sector Strategy 2030 (QNTSS), published in February 2014, which sets out a clearly defined roadmap for the industry’s future development.
QNTSS was developed in close consultation with a wide range of public and private sector stakeholders so as to maximize synergy and integrate tourism into the broader National Vision 2030. Its key aims include ensuring the industry’s advances uphold the highest standards of environmental sustainability and cultural harmony, while reflecting the unique attributes of the nation’s society and heritage.
